MA.STRUM exists at the intersection of fashion and function, a brand dedicated to the pursuit of textile innovation & utilitarian design. Inspired by the archive of legendary Italian designer Massimo Osti the creator of Stone Island and CP Company, MA.STRUM was established in 2008, in Essex, England. With an ideology and ethos can be found in its name that gives a nod to the rhythm of life and touches on the continued link between fashion and music. Ma is the abbreviated title a Master of Arts degree would get and Strum represents rhythm.

Massimo Osti, a name revered in the world of menswear, a visionary who fused together science and fashion, changing the latter forever. Osti is the man behind sportswear powerhouses, C.P. Company and Stone Island, but MA.STRUM was founded 3 years after his death. With the idea that the brand would pay homage to Osti’s work and be inspired by the archive, steered by John Sharp, Donrad Duncan and Lorenzo Osti, the brand took off.

The vision behind the brand was to create classic, functional products with a timeless appeal. Pushing the boundaries of manufacturing their inspiring collections incorporates new innovative novation, functionality and timeless aesthetics have distinguished the work of Massimo Osti, whose research in textiles and form revolutionized sportswear, leaving an unmistakable mark in the fashion world.

MA.STRUM specialises in offering timeless fashion, merging uniform styles with casual wear to create a look that is as stylish as it is practical, with innovative fabric technology that works with the elements rather than against them.The brand have blended fabrics and technology together with original designs to create ‘wearable technology’. Designs are realised as the product of an extensive research and development process, one that addresses how the wearer engages with and is protected by their garment. While each collection boasts a variety of influences, MA.STRUM does draw most significantly from the worlds of sportswear, performance clothing & military design. The brand draws on everything we love from the original Osti designs of the 80s and 90s, from utilitarian influences to technical fabrics and the latest garment innovation. As well as re-releasing classic 80s designer casual brands such as Boneville, the British based brand has gained a loyal following from those in the know for their military inspired silhouettes, state of the art fabrics and updated styles which are introduced each season.

It’s also worth pointing out that MA.STRUM aren’t just about jackets (as good as they are) with the brand also introducing a range of sweats, polos and tee’s to go alongside their technical outerwear.
