Pretty Green and Umbro are proud to introduce their first collaboration - an ode to vintage ‘90s sportswear infused with a healthy dose of rock'n'roll. The collaboration draws on the influences and heritage of two brands rooted in British culture.  Music and football remain at the heart of British culture and this inaugural collaboration from Pretty Green and Umbro symbolises the nations love for both.

Umbro have been kitting out footballers since the 20s and are celebrating their 95th anniversary this year. Since launching in 1924, the brand has been a thread running through some of the most memorable moments in recent football and sporting history. However it isn’t well known that the company, which has produced clothing and footwear for some of the world's biggest sporting stars, came from humble beginnings in Manchester.  Where it is still based today, with global headquarters in the Northern Quarter.

So it is not a surprise that Manchester born Oasis’s Liam Gallagher was a fan of the sports brand. Lifetime City fans, the Gallaghers made Maine Road their first stadium gig, where Liam donned the famous Umbro Drill Top! An iconic moment for Oasis and City fans alike.

Since the birth of rock 'n' roll in the late 1950s, British street culture has been influencing fashion and music worldwide. Liam Gallagher, one of the most iconic frontmen in music, launched his own clothing band in 2009- Pretty green. The brand designs have traditionally taken inspiration from classic mod and indie styles, mirroring the style influences of the brands founder, reworking some of the most important events in British culture for a modern audience. Pretty Green has an authenticity borne of a deep understanding of that culture and the things that make it relevant today.  Pretty Green provides simple, classic clothing with a modern twist, uniting people through a love of music and fashion

With the Manchunian power pair both having strong brand histories rooted in their hometown, the collaboration was inevitable. With the core of the collection remaining true to the roots of both the brands, football and music  the new collab underlines the influence which the ‘90s still has over contemporary fashion, as a whole new generation takes to the stage.

The collection includes drill tops, t-shirts, and tracktops, drawing on the heritage of the brands and their affiliation.
