Luke 1977 New Summer Collection

04.06.14

Luke’s high summer drop has just hit the shelves and we’re super impressed with the new designs from this hot British label. The brand burst onto the market with simple classic styles, however in recent years we’ve seen a much bolder design edge come to the fore in their work. This summer’s capsule collection is no exception and is packed full of on trend details.

Luke have nailed the floral print trend for Summer ’14. Their ‘Don’ overprint polo features an all-over retro floral design alongside their signature lions head logo and an unusual bias cut chest pocket. Alternatively opt for the ‘Dilke’ tee which features a block navy stripe contrasted nicely with their retro floral print on the lower body of the tee and the chest pocket. There are also stand out summer print swim shorts and, for those of you who can’t be convinced to go floral, an all over palm print summer shirt in rich red named after the king of Hawaiian shirts, Tom Selleck. This tropical theme continues in the bold ‘pretty boy’ printed tee featuring a colourful selection of parrots arounf the collar.

As well as stand out summer styles, the new collection also features some excellent shirting. Luke have always produced great shirts – a throwback to the designer’s upbringing as the son of a tailor. This season is no exception and the Hillerman shirt is a great addition to the range. Available in a blue checked version or a classic white colourway with contrast colour cuffs this is a great addition to any wardrobe.
