STREETWEAR A/W '13

24.10.13

Difficult to define, but easy to spot; streetwear is the niche style that’s exploded onto mainstream culture over the past few years. With roots in the surf culture of late 70’s & early 80’s LA, streetwear developed as an antidote to mainstream fashion and grew organically to become popular across the globe. Intrinsically linked to hip-hop and skate culture, streetwear has been central to some of the most striking styles of the last 30 years.

After 30 years in the game, streetwear has become a genre in its own right and is more commercially driven than ever before. Brands such as Ice-Cream, Carhartt, and Billionaires Boys Club have become popular across the world with smaller labels such as Crooks & Castles and Gourmet following close on their heels.

The Xile team love to introduce street inspired elements into their wardrobe and mix & match street style with other labels to create a unique look.
