PRETTY GREEN AW14 COLLECTION

02.09.14

When Pretty Green debuted in 2009 the fashion world was sceptical; the bad boy of brit-pop Liam Gallagher was known for his authentic rock star style, but few suspected that Pretty Green would become one of Britain’s most iconic fashion labels. Fast forward five years and Gallagher reigns supreme with the label now established as one of the most prominent independent labels on the market.

Back in 2009 Xile were amongst the first stores to pick up the label and we’ve watched it develop over the years from ‘debut album’ to ‘greatest hits’! The first collection was a limited range of logo tee-shirts and it’s been brilliant to watch that blossom into a full collection.  Although the clothing has evolved and improved over the years the brand’s design DNA has remained true to the original concept; retro inspired pieces with real star quality!

The brand has a mod influenced feel running through all its collections however in recent years under the guidance of head designer Pat Salter, a more flamboyant side to the brand has developed. This is no surprise given that Salter, former head of denim development at Ted baker, cites Brian Jones and Keith Richards amongst his style icons.

We’ve selected some of the stand out pieces from the AW14 collection below. The shirting and polos channel the brands retro style with paisley prints and polka-dots giving a unique look. Jackets remain a staple of the collection and the best pieces again harness vintage style and reimagine it for the modern day. The newest  addition to the collection is Pretty Green’s range of exclusive footwear.
